Apple Pie Without The Gulit - Adventures With Ellie

Apple Pie Without The Gulit

This past weekend I had gotten some apples when I went shopping for the week so I could make an apple pie for my hubby and the kids.

I had left over apples and I must admit I kept thinking man I want some apple pie and it just happened that they were going to air one of the kids and I's favorite little movies which is Charlie Brown's -Great Pumpkin. So of course I knew I had to make a little dessert to watch.

Of course what pops in my head...  apple pie. I thought but how can I have this apple pie w/out the guilt and broke down what I used to make the regular apple pie.

On Weight Watchers I checked to see different recipes for a lighter version of apple pie and I came up with a light recipe that would only have 3 ingredients and it was zero points!

Here's what you'll need :

- 5-6 Apples (mine were small so I used 6)
- 1 tablespoon Cinnamon
-2 Tablespoons of Can't Believe it's Not Butter (spray)
(I also added a dollop of fat free whipped cream as well)

Instructions

Sit down and start peeling. For me I like to peel watching a little bit of TV w/the kids as I must admit peeling isn't all that fun but I get it done so I can get to my next steps!

After you get them peeled cut them up into small pieces and set aside.  Mix together the butter and cinnamon.

Once you get that done mix together the apples and the mixture make sure you incorporate them well so all the apples are covered. Now bake for 30 minutes in a 350 oven.

Now when they come out they will look like this :

When I took them out my daughter ( 8 year old one ) told me mom "they smell SO good but why do they look like potatoes weren't you making a dessert?" I  kind of had to agree and giggle along with her.

I portioned the apples out into 4 little bowls of happiness. I added a dollop of fat free whipped cream

The kids really loved it! This is such a simple way to enjoy apple pie w/out the guilt. I most definitely will be making it again this weekend.

If you try it out I'd love to hear what you think!
