Breakfast Made While You Sleep - Adventures With Ellie

Breakfast Made While You Sleep

Can You believe we are into a new month which of course it 's time to set those new goals and yay for the reset button of sorts. I am of course in the never ending quest of trying to keep healthy and so today I'm sharing one of my shortcuts that I reminded myself about as I was looking at what I want to be to accomplish this month.

For me personally I know that Breakfast is the BIG thing for me. I need a good hefty meal in order to have a productive day and so you will see me eat the most then.

Today I'm going to share something that really helps me when I actually get it made on the weekend that way for the week I will just have to open the fridge and it will be ready for me.

I'm going to share how easy and quickly you can create a couple of these recipes. First off I get my jars at Micheal's craft store they usually are on sale if they aren't make sure to use a coupon on them. I actually think they are inexpensive and love them not only to make these but other recipes that I'll share at a later date. They are my go to making advanced meals. Now let's get started.

Main ingredients they all use are these :

  • 1/3 cup of quick oats
  • 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1/4 cup  low fat plain Geek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Almond milk
Now comes the fun. Add these additional things for different flavors!

Chocolate Strawberry Goodness
  • 1 tbsp lite honey
  • 1tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup strawberries cut and halved

Banana Nut Happiness
  • 1 tbsp lite honey
  • 1 tbsp natural nut butter (I use PB2)
  • 1/2 Banana sliced (I use the whole banana cause I love bananas!)
  • *optional* 2 tbsp of chopped walnuts
Blueberry Delight
  • 1 tbsp lite honey
  • 2 tbsp of light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup blueberries

Cinnamon Apple Surprise
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Add the start ingredients and add the additional ingredients to make the oatmeal of your choice. Make sure your jars have lids because you will need to close it and the next step you can get your kids to help you because you to shake them jars UP!

I usually do it 2-3 mins. See you even get a mini workout doing it. Once you have mixed up the jars well put them in the fridge till the next morning and when your ready for breakfast grab one and enjoy.

I hope you will give these a try and please let me know what you think. I will be making these these week. I also will share what else I will be eating in the coming weeks. It's time to hit the reset button on my habits because I admit I've gotten off the wagon and being healthy is something that is very important to me. Here is to healthier us!
